Job Description

The Mary T Family of Companies is seeking an IT Intern to to assist with IT objectives.

This position will be primarily based in Coon Rapids, MN.


POSITION PURPOSE

Primarily responsible for the support of end-users and the Information Technology team. Ensure that company computer systems function properly. Repair, replace, and upgrade hardware and software as appropriate to meet these objectives. Participate in the staffing of the company Help Desk. Participate in mentoring from senior IT staff to learn and understand the field of Information Technology.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC JOB DUTIES

1. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with equipment including but not limited to printers, computers, servers and switches.

2. Service and maintain network equipment; provide system analysis and administration.

3. Service and maintain computer equipment.

4. Develop and detail solutions for known issues.

5. Run and install software/updates.

6. Setup and deploy new computers, mobile devices, phones, servers or applications.

7. Repurpose & repair staff computers, mobile devices, phones, and other hardware.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION

EDUCATION: Minimum of High School Diploma or GED

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE: Valid driver's license

EXPERIENCE: Basic familiarity with computers, networking, and mobile devices.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Ability to accept and follow directions
  • Capable of working as part of a team and individually
  • Be open and excited to learn new technologies
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Be customer service-oriented to best serve staff & clients
  • Ability to carry, move, lift computer systems, servers, switches which may weigh up to 50 lbs
  • Install cabling and wiring which may be in tight spaces or difficult areas to access
  • Crouching and crawling in small spaces and climbing ladders to reach areas for network hardware and infrastructure
  • Ability to drive in own vehicle to company locations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others verbally, in writing, and through electronic means
