Reliability Engineer

Our Guidance & Navigation Division in Pine Brook, NJ has an exciting opportunity for a Reliability Engineer to join our team. In this position, you will work in a dynamic people-focused environment where you will work directly with experienced engineers and scientists to assist with reliability analysis. You will also be responsible for attending/facilitating capability review meetings and providing MTBUR data for aerospace parts. You will be the central focal point for the reliability function with other disciplines and with customers for the program(s) assigned. Will research and write reliability portions of various technical proposals.

Essential Functions

  • Work with IPT to identify reliability critical items and any non-conformances and offer design alternatives.
  • Generate reliability, maintainability and system safety reports for IPT and customer review.
  • Perform system safety analyses per Mil-Std-882 and SAE ARP4761.
  • Perform Maintainability analyses per Mil-Std-470.
  • Review customer reliability, safety and maintainability requirements and provide RMS/C analysis.
    • Safety requirements decomposition.
    • Reliability Block diagrams (series and parallel modeling).
    • Failure Modes and Effects and Analysis/Failure Modes & Criticality Analysis (FMEA/FMECA).
    • Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).
    • Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA).
    • Weibull analysis.
    • Reliability predictions (MTBF, failure rates, MTBUR).
    • Reliability Growth Curve.
    • Reliability Demonstration.
    • Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT).
    • Root Cause Analysis.
    • Avoidance of Single Point of Failure (SPOF).
    • Preventive / Planned Maintenance Optimization (PMO).
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.

Required Skills

  • Engineering experience (systems, Software & Hardware).
Required Experience
  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in similar role within the aerospace industry which must include Reliability, Maintainability and Safety engineering analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Radiation hardening of electronics experience a plus.
  • De-rating of electronic parts a plus.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to obtain security clearance.
