Position Summary:

The Manager Reporting & Accounting Operations will assist the Director, Reporting & Business Planning in managing the organization's financial, managerial and statutory accounting and reporting activities. Key responsibilities include compilation of financial statements under IFRS, report submissions into the global parent company, and oversight of accounting operations inclusive of general ledger management, KPI tracking, treasury, payables, payroll processing, audit and tax management. The Manager shall ensure adherence to all Company principles, policies and procedures regarding accounting and reporting and will oversee the company's system of internal controls. This requires active communication and collaboration with business unit management and financial services with the purpose of generating meaningful relevant financial data aimed at significantly impacting decision making. Other responsibilities include maintenance of SOPs, work instructions that comply with IFRS and applicable internal accounting policies. This is a hybrid position in Bedminster, NJ.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for global reporting, submissions and statutory reporting.
  • Oversee the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial statements.
  • Manage the monthly Balance Sheet review and P&L reporting process, including development and maintenance of metrics to ensure accurate reporting. Assist the Director of Reporting with analytical reviews of balance sheet and income statement.
  • Manage and oversee the accounting operations team with functional responsibility for accounts payable and payment activities, payroll processing, analytical review and KPI tracking.
  • Coach, develop and guide the accounting operations team in resource management and optimization and best practices.
  • Manage the Treasury function related to cash, wire requests, forecasts, banking and vendor verifications and bank account reconciliations.
  • Manage the Accounts Payable function related to payment processing, aging, 1099's and continually develop process improvements
  • Manage the biweekly Payroll function, recording of related journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Manage the accounting for benefits, including understanding claims experience and reserving for a self-funded healthcare plan.
  • Coordinate the annual audit process and complete requests related to the role's subject matter expertise.
  • Handle interaction with third-party tax support toward completion of corporate tax returns, state tax inquires, and tax issues.
  • Advise corporate specialist services as related to audits, tax, treasury, insurance and other specialized matters needing finance support. Responsible for researching technical accounting matters and properly reporting under IFRS accounting standards.

  • Responsible for maintaining chart of accounts, internal management reporting system and updating internal reports as needed.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining internal controls to ensure proper oversight over business processes.
  • Recommend any amendments to accounting & finance policy, procedures and controls as necessary. Assist in the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOP's).
  • Continually seek new methods to streamline, automate, and simplify the company's accounting processes.
  • Perform ad hoc assignments as designated by management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Management of 3 direct reports primarily in the areas of Accounts Payable, Treasury, Payroll, Financial Statement analysis and preparation.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Requires BS in Accounting or Finance, and a minimum of 7-10 years accounting experience. Experience with Payroll, Indirect Tax, and/or Audit preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting required.
  • MBA is a plus CPA preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains is preferred or SAP
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting and financial statement preparation. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Must be detail oriented and have a proven ability to organize, analyze, set priorities, and multitask in a fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated success in working in a team environment supporting accounting, business and customer requirements. A strong commitment to team projects and deadlines is required.
  • Advanced PC skills using Microsoft Office products and Adobe Acrobat Pro including: Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Teams, and Internet Explorer.
