JOB OVERVIEW: Responsible for assisting room attendants with heavy items such as mattresses/linens, removing dirty linens, transporting to laundry area, handling washing, folding and delivering fresh linens and other supplies to room attendants throughout the day. This important role also assists with cleaning public areas in addition to delivering and retrieving items for guests as requested.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Assist room attendants with heavy items such as mattresses and lines.

2. Delivers linens and other supplies to room attendants.

3. Removes all dirty linens from assigned room attendants carts and closets, transports to laundry.

4. Maintains cleanliness and organization of floor, closets, water and ice stations.

5. Removes trash, wipes down shelves/counters, sweeps and waxes floor, removes non-floor closet items, and stores them in appropriate areas.

6. Cleans other designated areas such as public restrooms, fixtures, storage areas, and other public areas for assigned floors.

7. Monitors and controls supplies and amenities, and minimize waste within all housekeeping areas.

7. Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Previous Housekeeping and Customer Service Experience, preferably in a hotel setting
  • Communicates and collaborates with other departments to provide and receive insight about guest needs, requests, and complaints.
  • Responds promptly and efficiently to guests requests such as delivery of housekeeping supplies (e.g. linens, cots, etc.)
  • Responds to guest complaints and ensures corrective action is taken promptly to achieve complete guest satisfaction.
  • Basic reading and math skills.
  • Ability to speak English
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Carrying or lifting items up to 75 pounds and pushing or pulling items up to 300 pounds.
  • Frequently standing up and moving about the hotel.
  • Frequently bending, stopping, kneeling.

For applicants who will be working in NYC, the anticipated compensation range for the position is $16.00-$20.00 an hour. The salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, work location, etc. Crescent Hotels is a multi-state employer and the salary ranges indicated herein may not reflect positions that work only in other states.

Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel environment (preferred)
