Position Title: Senior Building Envelope Consultant
Position Location: 229 W 28th St., 9th Floor, New York, NY 10001
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Salary: $110,000 - $140,000/year

Telecommuting is permitted, but applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance.
- Meet with prospective clients to ascertain their needs for Building Envelope Services;
- Assist in execution, including delivering technical and scheduling support for team
- Perform visual inspections of existing buildings and buildings in progress;
- Write comprehensive Building Assessment Reports including descriptions and proposed remedies for identified deficiencies, expected contractor costs, likely project timeline, and a design proposal;
- Complete comprehensive design of noted building deficiencies, including drawings, details, and specifications;
- Conduct weekly progress meetings and field inspections to insure proper installation and conformance to the project documents;
- Draft weekly progress meeting minutes and field reports for all inspections;
- Create field reports which will include written and photographic documentation of the work being performed on site;
- Complete inspections, including access to facades and roofs via supported/suspended scaffold and power lifts;
- Identify and provide the remedy to anything installed incorrectly and also provide solutions to conditions that were unforeseen;
- Conduct onsite pre-bid walkthroughs with prospective contractors to review the site conditions and bid documents;
- Create and deliver the bid matrix to allow the clients to see all proposals compared and highlight any anomalies;
- Conduct contractor interviews with the bidders and the client
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: : Master's in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Structural Engineering or foreign degree equivalent plus 3 years of work experience with building design.
Acceptable Occupations for Experience: Any occupation in which the required experience is gained.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: 10% domestic travel.
SPECIAL SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Work experience must include:
- Coordinating and producing complete construction documents including floor plans, elevations, building envelope details, and specifications
- Architectural design details
- AutoCAD, Sketchup and Adobe Creative Suite.
- New York City Building Code, New York City Zoning Code, and ADA regulations.
- Department of Building (DOB) submissions and resolving DOB objections
- Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) submissions and resolving LPC objections
- Presentations of information to client and project team
