THE POSITION

Are you looking to start your summer off with an internship that will help kick start your career? The Department of Environmental Protection is looking for an intern to assist with our website migration. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Scientific and Technical intern, you will gain experience with developing web services and transforming the Department of Environmental Protection's existing systems to a digital user interface. Additionally, the incumbent of this position will develop and create unique content pertaining to content published on sites and an engaging user experience.

Furthermore, this position will focus on website migration working alongside digital and communication directors. This includes the creation of user-friendly and efficient interfaces when Pennsylvanians navigate our websites.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time internship
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Work schedule can accommodate student's class schedule and can be flexible.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 2 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Internship Requirements:

  • Undergraduates must be in junior or senior year status in technology, computer science, information systems, project management, marketing, multi-media, digital, communications, or a related field; or
  • Completion of a graduate program or higher at any level in technology, computer science, information systems, project management, marketing, multi-media, digital communications, or a related field; or
  • A recent graduate from May 2023 in technology, computer science, information systems, project management, marketing, multi-media, digital, communications, or a related field.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
