Job Description

The Radiochemistry and Molecular Imaging Probes Core Facility (RMIP Core) at MSK is seeking a self-directed leader to join their management team as the Business Manager, RMIP Core, and manage the overall financial operations for RMIP Core.

RMIP Core is both a part of Sloan Kettering Institute's network of service providers (or Cores), and is also one of the larger intra-institutional service providers at MSKCC, responsible for the pharmaceutical development and clinical manufacture of various molecular imaging and radioligand therapy agents. The RMIP Core project portfolio includes both MSK intra-institutional grant funded projects and projects involving collaboration with the pharmaceutical industry. The RMIP Facility is composed of two radiopharmaceutical GMP manufacturing suites, QC equipment room, and a cyclotron. RMIP produces a wide variety of radionuclides and radiopharmaceuticals, serving both the clinical and research programs of MSKCC.

As the Business Manager, RMIP, you will:

    Partner with RMIP Core Director, and SKI core facilities leadership and administrative staff to plan and implement new programmatic initiatives affecting RMIP Core.
  • Serve as administrative liaison between RMIP and SKI Cores Leadership and management on all matters related to RMIP Core business/financial management, billing processes, administrative matters, and compliance.
  • Lead the management of the financial and administrative operations for the RMIP Core which includes some or all of the following:
    • - the operating and capital budgets
    • - the financial management of operating and non-operating departmental funds, including review and approval of expenditures
    • - the analysis of departmental funds to ensure proper utilization and to oversee the creation of budgets, metrics, and budget calendarizations
    • - salary management, including participation in the annual increase and bonus processes
  • Manage the financial operations related to new project proposal generation and management.
  • Manage and monitor the RMIP Core operational budget.
  • Manage the RMIP Core's interinstitutional and external billing and payment processes.
  • Plan, develop, and monitor RMIP Cores' resources, including development of annual operating budget partnering with Research Fund Management.
  • Ensure budgetary compliance through review of expenses and prepare regular financial reports (e.g. to monitor expense and recovery activity) for RMIP Core.
  • Be responsible for timely billing, collection and reconciliation for all service charges both internal and external to RMIP Core.
  • Assist RMIP Core Director with determining rates and prices, adhering to federal cost accounting requirements.
  • Provide project management support and serve as systems and subject matter expert for billing applications for RMIP Core.
  • Coordinate initiatives to measure and improve the financial processes in the RMIP Core and identify appropriate stakeholders to effect changes.
  • Collaborate with RMIP Core Director to support customer satisfaction and business relationships with internal and external customers.

You need:

  • Previous business management experience in Pharmaceutical Contract Manufacturing Organization setting is preferred.
  • The ability to analyze systems and interpret financial data and develop, facilitate and orchestrate effective communication with all levels of staff including clinical/research staff (Core Heads, investigators, etc), administration, research and clerical support staff, and institutional leaders.
  • The ability to plan, organize, facilitate and lead meetings, to develop programs/manage projects and to prioritize work within RMIP Core.
  • Ability to take ownership of situations, multi-task and manage projects from start to completion.
  • Strong accounting background and excellent excel skills are strongly preferred.

Pay Range $109,300.00-$174,800.00
