Essential Job Duties:

Reports to the Director of News
-
Develop, manage and executive produce editorial content including daily live and breaking news for on-air and digital

Executive produce all digital projects including all news webcasts
-
Executive produce all live news coverage across all BET Networks platforms
-
Develop and execute plan for all breaking news coverage
-
Works closely with Director of News in the implementation of live and breaking news coverage
-
Manages budget and schedules (with PM)
-
Establish and oversee editorial direction for news coverage

Skills, Education And Experience:
Qualifications
-
15 years as a broadcast journalist with at least 7 to 10 years managerial/supervisory experience with a news organization

Strong working knowledge of local and national news stories and issues; ability to produce news and web casts in a live and live-to-tape news operation

Must have extensive knowledge and interest in American politics, as well as national and international affairs
-
Must have excellent writing, script, and editing skills
-
Field experience helpful. Must be a strong and decisive leader in the control room
