Position Purpose: * Negotiates various types of Master Agreements related to the RBC Capital Markets trading platform in the USA. * Ensures that all agreements adhere to RBC Standing Orders and that appropriate business approvals have been obtained for all deviations from RBC policy. Liaises with Group Law and RBC Taxation to ensure that business is aware of legal/tax implications of modifications to RBC standard trading documentation
Key Accountabilities: * Negotiates various RBC standard Master Agreements, as well as liaises with the RBC Law Group for non-standard agreements. * Coordinates, in conjunction with the Law Group, any modifications to standard RBC documentation templates; * Ensures compliance with RBC Standing Orders for all trading documentation. * Updates Trading Documentation systems to reflect status of negotiations and to capture information from negotiated agreements. * Ensures netting policies of RBC are implemented and appropriate internal systems are updated accordingly.
Job Requirements: (Knowledge/ Experience): * Min 3-5 yrs related work experience * Extensive knowledge of Capital Markets Products & the Trading environment * Demonstrated experience in negotiating Master Agreements (ISDA, MRA, MSLA, etc) with various counterparty types (FI’s, Corporates, Funds, etc) * Understanding of credit and familiarity with corporate credit agreements would be an advantage * Strong negotiation, oral and written communication skills * Ability to analyze and understand complex structures * Ability to handle significant and diverse workload * Partnership mentality with respect to rest of RBC enterprise including other functions * Adaptable and committed to continuous learning * Preferred - Post secondary education, legal or paralegal training * Legal qualifications/experience may be an advantage
