Position Purpose: The position is a supportive role to the compensation and benefits team. The individual in this position will be responsible for supporting the accounting and compensation team for RBC Capital Markets and Wealth Management in the U.S. The individual hired for this position will work closely with the Senior Accountant and Analyst on the Compensation and Benefits team.
Key Accountabilities: * Supporting role in the Compensation and Benefits area within the Capital Markets and Wealth Management units. * Month end close process, which includes assisting in the preparation of journal entries, documentation, and work papers. * Assist with reconciliations and balance sheet attestation of Compensation and Benefit accounts. * Daily coordination and communication with various individuals from Payroll, HR, Finance, Legal, etc. * Maintaining and improving the existing control framework for daily/monthly/quarterly reporting.
Job Requirements: (Knowledge/ Experience): * Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (required). * 2-3 years experience in Public Accounting (Big 4 preferred). * CPA preferred. * Excellent PC skills a must (knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite). * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Excellent organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities. * Good listener and quick learner with attention to details. * Able to exercise persuasion and influence. * Strong financial and analytical skills.
